Frequently asked questions

  • I do not accept insurance, but can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. You may also pay with HSA/FSA cards for sessions.

Please check my fees page for the most updated price.

  • A lot of insurance plans offer out-of-network benefits. You'll need to pay for the sessions in full and then be reimbursed by your insurance once you provide them with a superbill that I send upon request. Insurance may take some time before reimbursing your claim.

To see if you have out of network mental health benefits, you can check your benefits plan online. I also recommend calling your insurance and asking some of the following for clear answers. Here are some potential questions to ask:

    • Do I have out of network mental health benefits? If so, what percentage will be reimbursed to me?

    • What is my deductible for out of network coverage and has it been met?

    • How do I submit claims for reimbursement?

    • What percentage of outpatient psychotherapy sessions are covered per session?

    • How much will I be reimbursed for a 60-minute psychotherapy session (CPT code: 90837)?

    • What’s the best way to submit claim forms for reimbursement?

    • How long does it take for me to receive reimbursement?

  • That depends on your goals and needs! To start, I recommend we meet weekly so that we can connect and I can get to know your story. Then we can adjust to fit your life.

Some clients prefer a long term working relationship, and others need a few sessions to work out something specific. Everyone is different! I personally find more value in seeing my own therapist for longer periods of time, switching the main focus as it naturally shifts.

  • Things happen in life and often we can't control them. However, the best way to care for all of my clients and myself is to have ample notice of my schedule. I ask that you give me 24 hours notice prior to your scheduled appointment to cancel or reschedule. Within 24 hours or not showing up to sessions will result in being charged the full session fee. I do this to ensure that I can help as many people as possible.

  • My favorite therapy is in-person. However, if you're not in Austin, or your schedule can't afford travel time, online therapy is just as effective.

Walk and talk therapy is a beautiful option to get us outside and moving. We have the opportunity to constantly regulate our nervous system and connect with our surroundings during our session. Plus, it takes a little pressure off that I can't look at you the whole time! We will walk side by side and enjoy our community spaces.

  • It starts with you filling out a contact form and I'll reach out to book a free consultation. I'll answer any questions you may have for me and you'll answer some of mine. If we both feel like we're a good fit together, we'll schedule our first session and get to work!
